The Lord will perfect that which concerns me

The Lord will perfect that which concerns me

The Lord will perfect that which concerns me

Lifting our eyes to Christ: Monday’s Scripture Passage

The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

Psalm 138:8

In our messes, in our troubles, and even in our sin, our God is working in us.

He doesn’t forsake us.

His mercy is great.

He will finish what He started.

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Philippians 1:6

Monday Prayer

Heavenly Father, we so frequently want to give up! We’re so easily overwhelmed by our own sinfulness… our inadequacies, failures, problems, and burdens. But we lift our eyes to You right now, acknowledging that You are greater than all these things. Your mercy and lovingkindness toward us never end. We don’t understand that, but we are so grateful!

Thank you that you never quit working on us… that even when we deserve judgement, you patiently woo us. You remember our frailty — that we’re mere dust. You won’t ever abandon the work of Your hands.

We allow You to work in our hearts today. Please transform us through Your Word. Open our ears to Your Spirit’s whisper and soften our hearts to yield to You.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.

Apart from Me, you can do nothing

Apart from Me, you can do nothing

Apart from me you can do nothing

Lifting Our eyes to Christ: Monday’s Scripture Passage

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.

I am the Vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.

John 15:4-5

How easily I reverse this process… trying to produce fruit to prove (to myself, others, and even God) that I’m close to the Lord, forgetting it’s only through my relationship with Him that any fruit is possible!

Monday Prayer

Jesus, please help us today to abide in You. Let us not waste our breathe, our energy and our time doing anything apart from You. We confess we need You. Let us love and serve out of our relationship with You. Amen.

Have a blessed Monday, friend!
