Running on Empty?

We’ve all been there.

Dry. Used up. Empty.

Bitter.

It’s such a miserable way to live. If you’re there, my heart goes out to you.

Let me know how I can pray for you, and I will.

This week Sara Hagerty (author of one of my all-time favorite books — Every Bitter Thing is Sweet) featured a portion of my memoir on her blog. (Thank you, Sara!)

It’s one of my stories of emptiness. I pray it offers you the refreshment you need today.

Running on Empty

Blessings,

Jennifer

  1. Thank you for this, Jennifer! This is where I(and my husband, too) am at! Worn out from life-work, parenting(adopted and bio) and stress on every side! Praying for wisdom and restoration! We are dealing with very hard adoption/trauma issues in out teens(yes, 3 of them!!), and we would appreciate your prayers! 2.5 years in, and this is very tiring!!!!

    • Amy, I’m praying for you right now. That’s such a heavy load. Just know that you are not serving your God and your family in vain! It is sooo going to be worth everything you’re pouring out right now. You are being Jesus to your kids, and His love is going to do amazing things!!! “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Gal. 6:9) The harvest will come! Much love & prayers, Jennifer
